As we continually for the release of Modenine‘s next album, the revered rapper has decided to whet our appetite with a soon-to-be released mixtape titled ‘Occupy the Throne‘, a remix of all songs off Jay Z’s and Kanye West’s ‘Watch The Throne‘ album.

He recently released two songs off it. Modey keeps it thorough as usual;

‘Paris fee style‘ which is a remix of ‘N****s in Paris‘ is basically textbook approach from the rapper. Modey bullies his way through with lines like ‘I’m a lyrical tyrant, call me Genghis Khan/you ain’t trying to rap with me, go sing a song’.

And on ‘Street runner‘ (which is the only original song on the mixtape), Modenine returns to his vintage soulful style rhyming over a Sugar King-produced beat. ‘You’re sweet, spending half the day sending tweets/I’m not verified but I’m not losing sleep’, Modenine sends out a subliminal to a ‘familiar foe’.

It will be interesting to see if ‘Nigel Benn’ can pull this one off by trying to topple Jay and ‘Ye’s near-classic work.
