Top Nigerian lyricist, Vector (the Viper) is set to drop his highly anticipated sophomore album titled The Second Coming this month. The album which will feature hot tracks as the buzzy singles ‘Born Leader’ featuring international dancehall star Mavado and ‘We’re Made Oh’ featuring steady rising producer, Del B.

Since the release of his debut album State of Surprise in October, 2010, Vector has grown into one of Nigeria’s most prominent rappers and wordsmiths. After seducing lovers of music across the continent with ‘Get Down’ featuring 2Face Idibia and following up with hit single ‘Angeli’ featuring 9ice, he quickly went deep into his second album.

First official singles off The Second Coming  ‘Angeli’, ‘Mr Vector’, ‘We’re Made oh’ were instant smashes within the pop circuit and also well accepted among rap heads.

With a rising profile, Vector has quickly become Nigeria’s most featured rapper because of his versatility; ability to compose rhymes that appeal both to the rap and mainstream crowds and sheer willingness to work.
VEC kept the fire burning with the release of his mixtape Bar-Racks in the month of August. The mixtape which had the single ‘Wasted’ trended on all major blogs and internet sites in the country and quickly became the hottest mixtape in the country for the next couple of months.

Vector started reaping the fruit of his labour when he won the Best Rap Act category at the Nigerian Entertainment Awards in New York in September. In October, Vector entered the history books when he won the highly coveted Lyricist on the Roll award at Headies 2012, becoming the first rapper to win the category apart from Mode 9, who’s won it yearly since 2006. He also won the Best Rap Single for ‘Angeli’ featuring 9ice that same night.

Third week in November, Vector released the video of his international collabo ‘Born Leader’ with Mavado. The video was shot in Miami, directed by Antwan Smith. After trending online, the video got on steady rotation on both cable and terrestrial TV stations while the single has been climbing up the charts on radio.

Now Vector is rounding up the year with The Second Coming which will be released on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 (12/12/12). According to industry taste makers who have listened to the album, The Second Coming  is the witty rapper’s  finer work  showing growth from his debut.

The release of his sophomore album coincides with the release of Naija super pop star D’Banj’s compilation D King’s Men. Despite having the same release date with D’Banj, some analysts believe that Vector’s offering will top the day and round off the year very well musically.

The Second Coming features more sparkling cuts from Nigeria’s young lyricist and is worth its 2 year wait.
