Wale Folarin, Nigerian-American rap artist, popularly known as, Wale called in to Lagos based radio station, Beat 99.9FM on the 11th of May. The rapper was interviewed by OAP Gbemi, who is the host of ‘The Drive Time Show’.
During the interview session he opened up about his current work status and being on the road. He also confirmed the much-talked about collaboration with Wizkid (which should be on Wizkid’s next project), and mentioned a couple other Nigerian artistes he would love to work with.
“I like Naeto C’s stuff. I should be working with him real soon”, Wale said. “Davido has reached out a couple of times. I’m sure once the album is done, you’ll be hearing a lot more of me and Naija artistes”.
About Wale’s upcoming album, the MMG act has described it as ‘soulful’ saying, “It’s going to be like big drums, a lot of soul music and soul singing. It’s the new Black soul.”
Titled ‘The Gifted’, the record has been slated for a June 25 release.
